Betty Alexander |

Betty Alexander
is one of the founding members of ALA. She has been
riding sidesaddle over 25 years. She currently competes at
local shows but has shown at Washington, Middleburg,
Culpeper, Lexington and Harrisburg, as well as the Howard
County, Maryland circuit Betty received her ISSO "Certified
Judge and Riding Instructor" diploma in 1996 and grades 1
and 2+ with SSA in 1997. Betty has served as ALA’s president
since the club’s founding three years ago. |

While foxhunting with Betty in
2005, Susie admired side saddle from afar until she joined
ALA 2009.
She and her trusty mount Bernard enjoy riding aside in her
prize winning Champion and Wilton, formerly owned by a
British Judge and Breeder in the UK.
She holds
a
SC real estate license but currently divides her time
between her horses, hounds, & farm while also teaching Zumba
instruction at various locations.

Sara enjoys riding aside in her
lovely antique Mayhew. She often rides her husbands mount
Basil, however she also rides and competes dressage aside on
her horse Chambourcin. |

Ann Lawhorne |
 |
As a horse crazed child, Ann
grew up riding with Pony Club. As a horse crazed adult she
has been teaching and showing for more than 20 years. She
has served as Member at Large for ALA for approximately two
years. In that position she acts as horse show coordinator
for ALA. |

Amber Asbell-Jackson

Amber has been a
member of ALA for over a year. She has enjoyed
competing in local shows and hunter paces in her first year
riding aside. Amber is a licensed Thoroughbred race
horse trainer and is currently learning to jump aside on her
OTTB Paddy O' Raider. Amber manages Joshua Jackson
Builders, LLC with her husband, a Residential/Commercial
builder in the Aiken area. She is also graduating from
nursing school in July as a RN. |
